Almost Home Animal Rescue began as a community effort to re-open an animal shelter in Chariton, Iowa. Since our first steps in September 2022, we have received an outpouring of support from near and far.
Our shelter opened in August 2024 to begin serving Lucas and Wayne Counties.
Hours
Tuesday - Saturday: 9 AM - 4 PM
(Note: There may be times when staff is unavailable and we are temporarily closed during regular hours
due to vet visits, errands, internal needs, etc. It is always best to call before stopping in.)
